God is merciful to His children who fall frequently when learning to walk.
Many times, we as Christians blow it and we blow it bad. It’s during those times the enemy Satan, seeks to capitalize on the potential ground he sees that he’s been given in our lives. He begins to pile on the grip of guilt, shame, embarrassment, heaviness, depression, isolation, frustration and failure. He uses this to make us feel as though we’re not really saved – that we don’t have the authority or power to overcome this. He makes us believe that God can’t use us now. Lies, all lies to keep us bound in our fallen state.
Here is an important principle to remember: the authority and power of the Holy Spirit received when we were filled with Him, remains even when our intimacy with God is hindered by sin. Now how can this be, when what we’ve done seems so bad. It’s God’s grace and mercy flowing through us. “His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lam 3:22-23). “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit”. (Titus 3:5) “But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by grace you have been saved.” (Ephesians 2:4-5)
See, it’s easy to fall and it hurts when we hit the ground; however, it’s also easy to stay there too. Don’t! Even though it’s harder to get back up because we may have some torn ligaments, broken bones, sprains, don’t stay in that sinful position. God is patient with us. He’s reaching down to help us up, knowing eventually we’ll get it right. He knows our heart and can make a clear distinction between us making mistakes, even willful ones in rebellion.
You are called by His name, humble yourself, pray, seek His face and turn from your wickedness (repent). He will hear from heaven, forgive and restore you. (2 Chron 7:14) There is no special prayer you must pray to earn forgiveness from God. All you do is ask Him to forgive you, through Jesus Christ, and believe that He will forgive you.
God is merciful to those of His children who fall frequently while learning to walk.
